GOT QUESTIONS?

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Registration & Eligibility

  • What age groups do you offer? We offer ages U11-HS

  • When does registration open and what is the deadline? FALL registration opens now-until September 5th

  • Does my child need prior experience to join? GZP is for our more advanced, competitive, and committed athletes

Costs & Fees

  • Are there payment plans or financial assistance available? - Yes, our program is required to pay upfront, however we offer funding assistance with finance (information on website)

  • What items or equipment are required for my child to participate? - bring a basketball, water bottle, and shoes (not boots)

Safety & Supervision

  • Are coaches background-checked and certified? Coaches are all background checked and certified.

  • What happens if my child is injured? Depending on how serious, if season ends injury, then the athlete will receive a credit. If they’re out for a few days/weeks, then they would be required to continue payments.

  • What is your policy on bullying and sportsmanship? We have a two-strike policy. During the season we have individual feedback meetings to hear about any issues or concerns. When we find out there is an issue, then we have a conversation and if we find out again, then we suspend the athlete for the remainder of the season.

  • What is your drop-off and pick-up policy? Prolific is a family-oriented gym; everyone is welcomed. Players are protecting inside the gym – parents can drop off anytime and its a safe environment with everyone watching over each other.

Schedule & Commitment

  • How often are practices and games? - 1x/week, 3x3 game/wk, and 5x5 game/wk

  • Where are the games and practices held? - games & practices are held at North & South locations. If the program grows, then we will have to find another location for practice.

  • What is the attendance policy? Highly recommended to attend as much as possible and if you cannot please communicate early

Uniform Policy

  • What items are included in the uniform package, and what items are the responsibility of the player/family? Players must bring their top, bottom, sweatsuit, and bookbag to each game, not practice or events.

  • How long does gear take to arrive? Gear varies on arrival. Normally about 2-4 weeks after purchase. It all depends on demand, size, and production.

Tryouts & Selection

  • What is the difference between an in-house team and a travel team? - In House is more for developmental athletes and Travel is only for advanced athletes. Some families do not want to travel, or athletes' schedules are not flexible enough, so in-house is a great option.

  • What age can my child try out for a travel team? U11 is the starting age

  • How does the tryout process work? Tryouts are more of an evaluation. We do not want to cut anyone. We have plenty of options for athletes. We want everyone to feel that they have a home in The P!

Inhouse and Travel Team — Development & Expectations

  • How many practices per week does the in-house or travel team have? Everyone gets 1x/wk practice, 3x3, and 5x5. To keep cost a bit lower, 2 Teams will always practice on the same court at the same time. Reason being is to always keep the numbers high for practice in case some players cannot make it.

  • Is playing time guaranteed on the in-house or travel team? Playing time is guaranteed on any team you play on in The P. Everyone plays! Our philosophy is everyone plays, but in the second half 6-7 minutes left in the game the coach will play the best players to help win the game!

  • What additional training opportunities are included in the program, and how do

they support player development? In House can add on this feature, but Travel team has this included in their package.

  • What can parents and players expect from the film sessions, and how are they used to support skill development and game understanding? Film is a great tool for athletes to see themselves and what they/team needs to improve on. Coaches will teach you how to watch films, so when players are home, they know what to look for.

  • What are the key takeaways players should expect from both the additional training sessions and film review sessions? It’s all about how much work you're willing to put in outside of what’s scheduled. If you put in the extra time, you will see your skills, go up notches! If you do the bare minimum and do not take advantage of what we are offering your players skills will not grow.

Travel Team — Logistics & Costs

  • How far does the travel team travel? Canada and USA. Team parents and Coaches make this decision.

  • What are the total costs for travel team participation? Families are responsible for accommodations (hotel, transportation, food, etc) roughly about $1500-$3000 (for 2 people) per trip

  • Who arranges travel and accommodation for away tournaments? Team manager helps find accommodation details and deals to share with traveling families.

  • Are parents required to chaperone away trips? Yes, all parents are responsible for their own child and to help as needed for others.
